AWO Integra, Haus Neuland, Addiction treatment
services (Mathias Gröger) (Wednesday, 18th, 14:30-16:30)
Haus Neuland has a special focus on
addiction of alcohol and medication. AWO Integra (Worker`s Welfare), Haus
Neuland, provides addiction treatment services with a focus on bridging
services for adults towards inclusion in society.

D2) Homeless People
Café
Papagei: a day-time shelter for
homeless men and women (Rüdiger
Mantei, Jonas Pot d`Or, Cornelia Eybe, Martina Masury) (Wednesday, 18th, 14:30-16:30)
Café Papagei is working with homeless adults in low-threshold and streetwork setting. We provide:
• Food and drink at a reasonable price
(non-smoking and smoking room)
• Shower facility and change of clothes, Laundry of personal clothes by
arrangement
• Setting up and managing a postal address
• Advice and placement in the city's social
assistance system
• Office and contact point of the street worker
• Possibility for a personal conversation
with our pastor
• Editorial and sales office of Bremen’s
magazine of the street
• Coordination Office and Venue of the University of the Street
• Medical care for homeless people in Bremen e.V.

D3) Social Work in a Secondary School
Social work in a secondary school

The Neue Oberschule Gröpelingen (New
Secondary School Gröpelingen) has an integrated service for school social work.
The presentation will focus on the activities and the conceptualisation of this
special offer. This school is nominated for the German school award 2018.

D4) Child and Youth Welfare – Young Refugees
SOS Intercultural Youth Residential Care Neustadt (Lars
Becker) (Wednesday, 18th, 14:30-16:30)
We will present our “SOS Intercultural Youth Residential Care
Neustadt” unit, where nine young refugees (16-20 years) are living
together and are cared for by five social workers. The house is a direct
neighbour of the Hochschule Bremen.

Caritas, Family Crisis Services (Raphaela Schenk) (Wednesday,

The Caritas family crisis services are directed to all
families in trouble or need. We try to work on crises directly in the families
at home in pedagogical and therapeutic settings.

D6) ASB – Disability Services
ASB
Society for Social Services (Arbeiter Samariter Bund, Gesellschaft für soziale
Hilfen) (Jochen Schlüter) (Wednesday, 18th, 14:30-16:30)
The ASB Society for Social Services (Arbeiter
Samariter Bund, Gesellschaft für soziale Hilfen) tries to support and mediate
participation into work life for adults with severe and multiple disabilities. The
main focus of this excursion will be on the question how social work
interventions can become a part of supporting the inclusion of the disabled in
professional education, training and labour participation.
